Kennedy Center delays Trump facade inscription until at least 8 October

After a 27 August 2026 hearing, Justice Department lawyers told a federal judge the Kennedy Center board will not effectuate its plan to add a “Renovated and Restored by President Donald J. Trump” inscription to the facade before 8 October 2026. U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper had pressed for more time; an earlier May ruling had blocked a full rename of the performing-arts center.
