Orientalism: Between Fact and Fantasy is on view at The Metropolitan Museum of Art from 12 June 2026 through 28 February 2027. The Met’s first exhibition centered on Orientalism pairs European and American Orientalist works with Middle Eastern objects across about 180 works from 12 Met departments, co-organized by European Paintings and Islamic Art, and includes paintings by Jean-Léon Gérôme and Osman Hamdi Bey.
