Beyoncé gives Studio Museum in Harlem a $2 million birthday gift

Parkwood Entertainment announced via PR Newswire on Sept. 4, 2026 that Beyoncé marked her birthday with a $2 million gift to the Studio Museum in Harlem. Founded in 1968 and reopened Nov. 15, 2025 in an Adjaye Associates–designed home at 144 West 125th Street, the museum champions artists of African descent. Director and chief curator Thelma Golden said the gift will help strengthen work for Harlemites, New Yorkers, and global audiences. ARTnews covered the announcement Sept. 5.
