Villena Treasure probe focuses on three hooded suspects

Spanish coverage of the 27 August 2026 early-morning raid on Villena’s MUVI museum says Guardia Civil investigators are seeking three hooded people who removed most of the Bronze Age Villena Treasure display in minutes after alarms sounded around 05:20. Mayor Fulgencio Cerdán said most of the jewels were taken and that the city is devastated; ARTnews reported an about €1.7 million estimate for the stolen gold pieces.
