Star of Hope Foundation lists Robert Indiana’s Vinalhaven home for $1.4m

On 26 August 2026 the Star of Hope Foundation, which Indiana established in 2016, said it will sell most of its Vinalhaven holdings, including the 19th-century Odd Fellows lodge at 46 Main Street listed at $1.4 million and 10 Main Street at $210,000. Board chair Emily Lane said the lodge has been vacant nearly a decade and that proceeds should go into artistic and cultural initiatives on the island. ARTnews, citing the New York Times, reports Indiana’s will directed the Star of Hope be restored “to museum quality” as a public art environment; Kevin Lipson, who represented the estate, called the sale “a remarkable repudiation of Robert Indiana’s testamentary intent.”
